The Orlando Cat Café

532 Cagan Park Ave Suite 201-203, Clermont, FL 34714

I am currently on vacation in Florida with my family, yet I felt the need to get to work on this post. It started when I saw a digital billboard advertising a little coffee shop that features one of mans best and furry friends; cats. If you haven’t already been able to tell from my other posts, I love animals. Especially CATS. I own two and they are my children, some of the most important parts of my life. They are at the center of my family and I do not ever want to experience what life would be like without a cat (or dog, I do love my doggies too). So naturally, my response was to google the place and upon reading the reviews became determined to go there. I badgered my family for almost a week until finally we arrived there this morning.

For a small fee you can spend an hour at The Orlando Cat Cafe petting and socializing with the cats in the viewing room of the shop. They had a residency of 21 felines while we were there. (Scroll to view some of the photos that I took of the sweet little kitties.) The Cat Cafe is partnered with the ASPCA, meaning that the cats housed there are up for adoption (below is a list of all the cats). It was defiantly worth the money to interact with these wonderful felines. It was entertaining seeing their various personalities (in fact can I please work there?). I have been missing my own pets terribly and this experience helped to relief some of that. It was nice seeing that these loving cats had the nice, clean, and comfortable quarters to reside in that they deserve. The staff and environment was welcoming, and I can’t wait to go back! It was a bit sad when it came time to leave, I wish that I could have adopted all of those kitties. It was also very inspiring to me as an author and helped increase my motivation to write.

Sorry about the terrible picture, but this calico cutie would not stay still on my brother’s lap!
This is Wrinkles and underneath that raggedy pelt is a heart of gold! I spent a good amount of time with him and would recommend this laid back kitty to anyone who is in need of a friend
This is my friend Scar, who also has an aversion to being still for absolutely any amount of time. I wish I could have taken him home but alas I could not. He was skittish at first but once he got comfortable with my presence this kitten was very sweet. Please, some one give him a good home for me!
Another cool thing about the Cat Cafe is that you can sign a cute little visitors book and wish the cats well!
Shout out to the artist of this cool drawing here! Elisa, this is truly amazing, hence why I had to include it in my post (I hope you don’t mind). I think your enthusiasm and drawing capabilities are great and far exceed mine. A shout out to your wonderful cats, Timber and Jack, too!

  1. That would be an interesting idea to extend on into nursing homes, Just sit and socialize with an elderly person and learn historical facts or fiction. Either way, both will have time well spent.

    1. Thank you for taking the time to comment and give me feedback! This is also something that is dear to my heart but considering that I only visited The Orlando Cat Café once and that I don’t live close to it, this will probably be my only post about it unless I get the chance to visit again. I did include the link to their official website if you’d like more information. 😺
